I watched your student visa video and believe I am in a bad spot. I have the visa you were taking about. “Nature de titre- carte de séjour temporaire // Remarques- étudiant- élève/ autorisé a travailler à titre/ accessoire”. This was my second year as an Au Pair with language classes at a small unaccredited school / Au Pair class. I had no idea…[Read more]

You can enter and leave France as many times as you want without issue. Traveling is not a problem on your visa, with two potential exceptions:
1) If your visa expires before you have your OFII appointment to validate it.
2) If you change your status, you are not supposed to travel on a récipissé for a ‘première demande’ -

Hello! Lecteur d’anglais positions are not filled by the TAPIF program. Individual universities will sometimes post job openings on their websites, but not always. There are fewer lecteur positions so I would encourage you to also consider TAPIF as an option while you look for lecteur positions. Since you’ve already got a master’s, you can also…[Read more]

Hi there! I just finished my masters and so I have two years of experience teaching English at the university level. I’d like to work as a lecteur d’anglais instead of an assistant so I can be in a French university…but I don’t see this option on the TAPIF application. Thanks in advance!

French social security is definitely an option to students on a long-term student visa. You’ll need to make sure you apply for the visa that includes benefits in that case.
Unfortunately, however, the process of getting enrolled in Sécu can be pretty long. It may take several months before you ever see a reimbursement, and sometimes al…[Read more] -

. I’m studying abroad next spring and I know I’m required to have health insurance. What kind of options are available to me? Is French Sécu a feasible option?

The process varies a little, but for the most part it’s the same old song and dance. Here’s a thorough guide just in case!1) You’ll need to have a French proficiency exam completed for any French-language programs. You either need to pass the TCF or TCF-DAP, or earn a DELF or DALF diploma. http:…[Read more]

I studied abroad in my undergrad so I’m a little bit familiar with Campus France, but now I’m trying to do a master’s in Lyon. I haven’t applied yet as I’m still looking around. Can I still go ahead and get started on my Campus France application?
